    my first attempt

i have started my first router build.
got a lot of great info from this site and the net.
it's main use will be for cut out lettering and engraving in mostly plastics and a bit of aluminium for my sign business.
it will be made mostly from a heap of scrap alu. i got really cheap ( channel, flat, etc. ) probally not the best but it will do.
    cutting size is 700mm x 580mm x 100mm.
all 3 axis have linear rails and nsk ball screws that i got cheap of ebay.
the ball screws have a pitch of 20mm, but im gearing the x+y axis 2:1 and the z 4:1 with pulleys.
    i have a size 34 + 2 23 steppers running from quickstep drivers.
not sure of what controller yet, prob. mach 3.
i will start with a router first, but would like to modify a mini mill spindle as well.
anyway here is a first pic of some progress.
