Checking tolerances, are the errors in the substrate or machine?
My machine is near completion and I will soon be checking for tolerances of the rails.
I have a dial indicator that I plan to mount to the router mount and run it across the x and y on a piece of particle board.
My question is if, for example, the machine is high on one side by .005 how do I know if my rails need to be adjusted or if the .005 difference is in the particle board?
Or is there a different/better way to measure your tolerances to adjust the rails? They don't bind but that doesn't necessarily mean I can't get them truer.
Thanks,
matt
