Does anyone know of a way to use mazatrol at the machine to program a part number or lot number to be engraved? Otherwise, programmers have to write EIA programs every time a new packet is released.

Try getting hold of Dan Palow. He's a Mazak apps tech in Seattle. He works out of the Machine Toolworks office in Seattle. I believe he wrote the macro that will do just that in Mazatrol.
thanks stucaruk,
I'm gonna give this a try. You're the first one I know of to even suggest that this is a possibility. You the man.
I recently had a program made to engrave on our Mazak mills and Integrex's. It is very easy to use.

thanks integrexman,
do you know the cost? this looks really interesting. I'll discuss this option with our group, but it seems to be the plug in that I've been looking for.

(currently upgrading to X3)
There is two versions. Standard mill $200 and Integrex $300.

The mill will engrave on 3 axis at a time XYZ and if you have a 4th axis it can do XAZ.
The Integrex version can engrave anyway you can imagine on that type of machine. Integrex version can do everything the mill version can.
CNCWrite has a new feature, you can read about it here: http://integrexmachinist.com/forums/...m=19&topic=966
