    emc 2.2.6 released

    Read about it here...

    http://axis.unpythonic.net/01218391672

I'm pleased to announce the next release of the emc 2.2 series, emc 2.2.6. This version contains many bugfixes, a new unified driver for the Mesa PCI and parport cards such as 5i20 and 7i33, and a sample configuration for the Tormach PCNC 1100.
The new packages are now available in the package repository. If you have already installed an earlier 2.2.x version, this is available as an update. If you are still using 2.1.7 but want to upgrade, instructions are here.

CVS users can get this release by checking out the RELEASE_2_2_6 tag. Tarballs will be available on sourceforge.net within the next 24 hours.

I have update to the latest version.

In the previously version the manual said “If the machine travels in the wrong direction,
enter a negative number here instead of a positive number”.

In this version I can’t insert a negative number. Bug in the program?

Oops - that is a bug that snuck into the last release. This is a stepconf bug. When you enter a negative scale it not only writes a negative scale to the ini it also writes a negative Max_Velocity. This causes the axis not to move. There are a few ways to fix this.

1.) using stepconf - instead of puting in a negative scale - just invert the direction pin.

2.) manually edit the ini and change the max_velocity positive number. (although if you re-run stepconf - you will lose these manually edited changes.)
