    using ethernet to communicate with a 18i-mb fanuc

    Im using a Fanuc 18i-mb and the rs-232 is working just fine I need to know if the ethernet connection works . Can someone tell me how in lamemans terms how to use the ethernet connection to communicate with the machine. I have the book but I cant make any thing out of it HELP

    Just curious, if RS232 is working, why do you want to use the ethernet connecton? The Fanuc end is archaic and a royal PITA, IMHO.

    Anyway, if you must, you'll need a FTP Client running on a PC. I've used WS-FTP at a couple of shops. It's available at:
