    Cheap place to buy fasteners?

I know it may be a little OT but I couldn't see a more relevant forum.

When machining parts for a production application that require fasteners like nuts, bolts, washers, etc, where do you guys buy such parts in production quantities?

I know about McMaster, but for some parts they can be expensive. I've found my local Ace hardware store is cheaper on most washers. I've cleaned out my HW store a bunch of times so I really would like an alternate source. I need to buy

Brass melt-in threaded inserts for plastic
    1" #6 threaded studs
    #6 1/2" and 1" fender washers
    #6 nylon lock nuts

Preferably a place with online ordering so I dont need to waste a lot of phone time getting quotes.

I know about smallparts.com and McMaster.com, but is there anywhere else???

    Thanks!

P.S. looking for these parts in quantities of maybe 1000-3000/ea part.

    SRT Mike,

You might try looking in the yellow pages for a fastener company in your area. I don't know about the price, but places like Grainger have some fasteners as well. I know that for my projects, I tend to get stuff from farm supply stores, as they seem to have decent quantities of grade 5 and 8, and they sell by the pound instead of by the piece (like Lowes and HD).

Hi Mike, try KL Jack. They have a bunch of locations up and down the east cost. I am lucky enough to have one close enough to drive to, they have very good pricing on all types of fasteners as well as some (limited) cutting tools.

I've been happy with Brikksen fasteners. http://www.brikksen.com/
I believe they are one of McMaster's suppliers.
Quick service, reasonable prices when you need more than a few bolts.
