    rs232 port on M1

    Does anyone know the purpose of the rs232 port located on the fx01 board?

    One purpose of the RS232 port SCN1 on the FX701 board on the M2 is to use a laptop to clear memory.
    Not sure it it is the same purpose on an M1?

    Just wondering what type of laptop they would have used in 1981 when the M1 was introduced? The CMT port used the casette deck and the other RS232 ports were Mitsubishi diagnostic ports as I remember. But of course I could be wrong. Clearing the memory to reinitialize the control was done with dip switches according to my M2 restart procedure.

    All I know is I have a Mitsubishi service bulletin that outlines the procedure using Hyperterminal or any modem program.
    I had a problem where the memory would not initialize using the normal method and this was a last resort procedure.

    Does any one has used drip feed mode on Mazak M-1 Control ?
    If yes, what are the settings ?
