I need help understanding the settings on this driver. Steppers work best with with dip switches M1, M2 and M3 set to "0" , which on the microstep resolution chart is "(blank)". With a microstep of "1" the steppers are very slow and at"1/2" the steppers barely crawl along. The highest current I can use is 1.8 amps, over this the steppers will stall. Also the dip switches M4 and M8 have no settings, should they be on "1" or "0" or are they not used.
I am using 4030 drivers with Kellinger 382 oz. 4 wire steppers ( rated at 3.6 volts and 3.0 amps) and a KL-320-36 power supply (36volts and 8.8 amps) and a C-10 Breakout board. The machine is a Solsylva 25 x 37 Dual Leadscrew with 3/8 10 2 start leadscrews. In Mach 3 I ran most of my tests with 1000 steps per inch, velocity of 25 and acceleration of 4.
Is the problem I described related to driver settings or might this be a wiring problem ?
