    Exclamation MCS exception processing alarm

    Hi guys,
    Need some back up on this one, I have here a Crown-L1420 with OSP-U10L control.

    Issue: Alarm A, 1151-20 Motion Control System exception processing, Spindle,5001000 ' #13 '

    "A fatal alarm occured while the MCS inverter unit and MCS software are executing their processing"

    '#13'-> IPM protective function activated

    Not long ago we replaced the MIP22 spindle drive with a refurbished unit. Since then this alarm would appear every now and then but now it is frequent. I have my suspicions but would like to get some fresh perspective.

    Have you checked the cable connections at the drive and the inverter? As I understand it that is the most common cause for that paticular error.

    Thanks but it appears to be a inverter bridge problem within this 10 month old MIP 22 spindle drive. Oringinal info. supplied to me from day shift was incomplete as I found that the spindle drive itself had an alarm listed also.

    Correct me if I wrong but don't these intelligent drives have overvoltage monitoring?
