    CNC program simulation

    Can anyone recommend a cnc simluation software package that is available free on the internet to help prove out programs prior to machine use.

    are you writing code by hand? CNC simulators are like watching paint dry, just my opinion. Most CAM programs will display the tool paths, and a careful inspection will keep you out of trouble.

    My intentions are to draw componets in autocad then save them to a dxf format and hopefully use that format to obtain a cnc program. The cnc simulator is to verify its movements and correct operation.

    Are there cad/cam packages available free online that can do this?
