Unhappy USB to RS232 NO Communication?

    Newbee here-

I purchased a new computer for our shop to upload/download programs to various CNC machines. It Does Not have a 9pin Com1 port but rather only USB. I purchased a Pinicale USB to 9pin Com1 converter, but I am still unable to send/recieve programs to the CNC. I have tried slowing down the baud rate to lowest setting, but still no sucess. I have taken in my personal computer and sent/recieved with it, but it Does have a 9pin com1 port (all setting the same). I can not possibly be the only one with this issue, can someone give me some advise?
    Thanks............Carrie

The problem with USB to serial; its designed for printers, camera, etc with fast communication; it also does not show up as a true 1650 Uart. Thus the communications is unreliable. If you have a laptop; use a PCMCIA or Express card to give you a true port.

If its a desktop, put in a PCI card $25.00 to give you 2 ports.

    We sell some options.

Thanks Grag for the info. I will give you a call soon to discuss this card. BTW- I have a Toshiba laptop.

    Thanks,

No problem. Then you will need an Express Card or PCMCIA Card to slide into the opening on the laptop. About $100.00 and it works every time vs this random stuff with USB.
