Hi all,
Does anyone here know the functions of the switchblocks on the spindle/Z dual axis board? I used to have this info, but I've stupidly mislaid it.

Currently when the control starts and stops the spindle it ramps the speed signal very slowly (you can see this on the spindle speed display on the screen) rather than just setting it and letting the spindle drive handle the acceleration.

The worst side effect of this is that I can't tap reliably at speeds above about 200 rpm because the spindle takes so long to spin up and down, i.e. the spindle is still turning for too long after the z axis has stopped moving.

My father has a BMC 25 with the same control and a similar (yaskawa) spindle drive, but on his the speed output from the control is NOT ramped and it works very nicely.

I'd really appreciate any help anyone can offer me with this.
Thanks Gregor
