    Feed rate and rpm's

    Can anyone help?
We are new, new new to using a CNC machine.
We are in the process of trying to cut 1/2" OSB board and cannot get the feed rate and spindle rpm's down. We have already broken 5 bits. Can anyone give us some good starting point on the feed rate and rpms we should use?

What size bits? It's very difficult to break a bit unless your rpm and feedrates are way off, unless your using 1/8" or smaller bits.

What is your tool size and type? Feedrate? RPM? Depth of cut?

We were using a 1/4" bit. and were trying different rpms and feed rates. We at first tried to cut through on one cut but then went to 1/2 trying different speeds then just gave up.

Try full depth at 17,000 rpm and 150ipm. I'm assuming you're using a solid carbide spiral bit? Carbide tipped 1/4" bits aren't nearly strong enough to hold up for long.
