I haven't used thread repair but have you tried to just follow the directions on the screen? Nothing else in the Intuitive Programming Screens looked that hard to figure out.

Are you doing a recut or just chasing the thread? The thread repair is easy to use. Try it on a scrap piece to get a feel for it before you pull the trigger on a good part or sub.

    e.g. for od thread repair
select od thread repair on ips screen.
locate tool in thread while chuck is stationary.
fill in prompts as follows while tool is still located in thread.
reference - press X dia meas.
no. of threads - count how many threads from face of job to where tool is located.
thd. length - enter overall length of thread.
pitch - enter pitch of thread-in your case it will be 8 T.P.I.
D.O.C. - enter depth of cut you desire-e.g.0.004in.
    X offset-how much deeper you want to cut-e.g. 0.009in.
Z offset-how much longer you want to cut your thread.
thd. direction- 0 for right hand threads.
    thd. chamfer-1 for no chamfer.
Now press cycle start WITHOUT moving tool away from location in thread.
    the following will take place.
tool will move away from job in X axis.
Z axis will then move to where thread starts.
chuck will then start spinning and threadrepair cycle will commence.
N.B. if cutting thd.up to a shoulder, check to see if length is correct in actual cutting process because the number of threads you count and enter will determine the actual length that the machine will cut.i.e f your count is 1/2 or 1 thread off,the length that the machine will cut will vary accordingly.

    thats it
    good luck.
tool will move away from job inXaxis
