Each pass different than the previous

Hey all, Got a simple question. Wen doing pocketing my pass rate is at .06 in and it takes 4 passes for a .25 in. The problem is that when all the passes are finished they dont line up giving the look of a stair case. What do I need to do to adjust this problem? Thanks for your input

I had the same issue with my semi-new built machine I'm still trying to figure out. The 1st time I was missing steps, my motors weren't tuned yet. I had to lower the speed of my machine to correct that. Most likely that's your issue too. The 2nd time one of my worm-gear screw got loose (at the coupler holding the motor and screw together), so when it got tense enough near the end motors kept spinning but the screw didn't. This made my gantry move back to a certain distance then stop instead of continuing to move back to the accurate location.

    Climb Milling vs Conventional Milling?

Your tool will deflect one way going from left to right (for example) and the other way comming back.

Try unidirectional milling instead of bidirectional?
I love deadlines- I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
