    Solid-Draft Face

i have been having a hard time finding how to draft a solid face,i dont understand the different options available or how to use them,i need to convert a solid chain that has a bolt hole pattern thru it to a 10 degree draft angle.

any info or links to info is greatly appreciated.

    thank you

    Tim,
I think you want to extrude cut the holes and give them a 10 deg draft angle. no need for draft face if you are making holes blind or through holes . Post your part if this is not correct.

Steve, thank you for your reply sorry for my delay but here is a file of a sample that i am looking for.

i need a 10 degree draft angle along the y axis the part needs to be drafted on top and bottom with the bolt holes remaining on a 90 angle, the hole in the center can be ignored as it is not needed.

    thank you

yes Kojack like that,i also have to do the same thing on the bottom.

    along the same axis.

can you describe to me how you accomplished this draft ?

    thank you very much.

Kojack, thank you very much for the illustration,my reseller tried to explain to me how to do it that way,i think it is a slice thru plane but i failed to grasp the idea.

that looks similiar to what he was trying to show me.

what i am trying to accomplish is a DRAFT SOLID FACE, option on the SOLIDS toolbar using the geometry as a direction to create the draft.

what i cannot figure out in the 2 weeks of trying to figure it out his do i choose a line, normal, or 3 points?

should my WCS be on top or right side?

which piece of the geometry should i select to get the draft along the Y axis?

also how to duplicate the same angle on the bottom of the part as the top?

thank you for all the assistance

Kojack thank you buddy,i learned a valuable lesson with this geometry and it will save me a lot of aggravation in the future.

the secret to the geometry was in surface boundaries and surface/solid trim functions.

would have never figured that one out on my own as a matter of fact i played with it for 2 weeks trying every conceivable combination to make it work before understanding your advice
    thanks guys
