    Joe's 2006 for METRIC-minded Aussie

Hello everyone. This is my first forum post on CNCZone.
I'm taking the plunge and making my first steps into the world of DIY CNC.
My intention, at this stage, is to make Joe's excellent 2006 model (thank you Joe for making this freely available, very generous). However, we here in Australia, went metric long ago and Joe's imperial drawings don't quite work here . I realize Joe's drawings can be easily converted from imperial measurements into metric, but the problem is our board does not exactly comply with imperial sizes. For example your half inch MDF would be 12.7mm thick. Our board is 12mm exactly. It doesn't sound like much, but it's enough to require redesigning the drawings a bit to comply with Australian metric standard thicknesses.
The point is this; I can't be the first person to have had this problem, so I'm wondering if anyone with the ability had done the conversion work to the original drawings? If so, can I get a copy please?

My other question to any Australian who's done a Joe's 2006 model CNC already, is; What pipe did you use? I'm sure we don't have "gas pipe" down here, and if we do it's probably not the same stuff. I'm a woodworker, not a metal worker, so I know nothing.

    G'Day Mate,
Gas pipe is all imperial even in metricated Australia.
I built a CNC router along the lines of Joes CNC. Being imperial and using metric sizes didn't make any difference. Remember the whole assembly can be fully adjusted to take up any misalignment or size differences at the completion of the build.
