    Point Cloud Conversions

Does anyone have experience with a program that will convert a point cloud to a solid, or into a format that can be used to create a solid?

This will give you a polygon mesh. http://www.paraform.com/ppdl/

I don't think there is anything that will give you a solid from a point cloud.

Do a google for AccuTrans 3D by MicroMouse Productions. It will do what you need.

BTW - if you purchase STLWork they include the Accutrans software as part of the plan - at least that was the story a few months back. Haven't used it yet - interested to hear your results. Cheers - Jim
Experience is the BEST Teacher. Is that why it usually arrives in a shower of sparks, flash of light, loud bang, a cloud of smoke, AND -- a BILL to pay? You usually get it -- just after you need it.
