    Wood Routers in Jacksonville, Fla.

Is there any one have working one or building wood router in the Jacksonville, Fla. or the area not to far away? I would like to find some one to talk to. I will start building one soon, I'm looking for parts now, I'm trying to find some use parts for rails and maybe some bearing to use. This may first post here and have been reading a lot. I have learn a lot from guys here, this is very good site you have. I'm retired for medical reasons, took up wood working to give something to do. Doc's told me to stay busy. Hope I posted this in the right place.
    Thanks Andrew

    Hello and welcome Andrew.

I’m sharing your shoes. Last November Doc told me to quit work but keep busy. Told him if I did not quite work I would be busy. Did not fly with him or the wife.

That is when I purchased a desktop cnc router. It’s a great way to pass your time and keep the brain thinking.

My first suggestion is to read everything on the forum that interests you and then some. You will learn a lot.

Since I can’t afford a pre-build bigger router I have also taken a more active interest in building one.

Thanks for the reply lovebugjunkie, It was hard for me to stop working after 30 years being a mechanical engineer. But has been since 2006 when I stop working, so I'm going give a try should be fun. The last 10 years I was designing and building robotic production machines. I have been reading here for a few months now and some days till my eyes hurt.

With your background this is going to be a breeze.

Post pics when you start, that is where I get all my ideas.
