Unhappy Meldas M0- cannot input xyz axis parameter

I am starting a meldas m0 machine on a leadwell mcv-0 that has been idle for a few years and I cannot input the axis names in the parameters. I have searched the site and have found great information on most of the problems. I have the battery charged, reset the parameters and have input (almost) all the parameters back into the system. The system now will startup and I can use the manual functions. The problem is when I try to input the name of the X, Y, and Z axis on the first parameter page it will not let me. I get an "SET NO.ILLEGAL" message. I have doe it exactly like the manual states (and near every other combination, haha). I can input the other parameters.
Any ideas of what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks

Yes, The page is "parameter P1"

The axis names are as follows

    1 I ( : : : )
    2 J ( : : : )
    3 K ( : : : )

    The names are blank.
    Thanks

Those are under user parameters, and on are machine with mo control they are blank. What is it that the machine won't do without them set?

The machine will not display X, Y, Z on display, and without the
control knowing what the axis names are, how will it interpet a
program? I have manual control of everything but I cannot run in MDI
mode or program. There is a 507 error, not sure which axis as there
are no designations. Before I reset to clear the inital parity error,
the axis were named x, y, z, but now they are blank.

Just wondering out loud here, but on system parameter page 1 did you punch in the axes there? The resone I ask is becouse that is where you tell the controler what you have,( x-y-z-a) and so forth.I could be wrong though it's been a long week,:tired:

Thank You, You are right. The manuals I have say nothing about setting H1000 tag to 00000100 M0 mode. A guy named Tom at leadwell helped me there. But that seems to have done the trick. Now I have error 31 ADR ERR trying to change tools, can't set spindle peed and no feedrate. But I have rapid! so at least it moves! haha. Guess I have some more parameters to find.

Ok I think the first thing to work on is a spindle speed,I think the parameters you are missing are on machine parameter page 7, I think .

Now as far as the tool changer it will have to be reoriented most likely allong with the spidle, witch may allso be why you have no spindle speed. If you need the prceedure for orienting them just let me know it's not that hard.

I will look through some notes about the feed problem and get back if I find something.

Everything works now!!!! Thank you for all your help. I was missing a couple parameters. That got the spindle going. Then I rotated the tool changer manually to position 1. diagnosis page, set H72 to 00000001 (that way I did not have to refrea=sh my hexidecimal. haha) and the tool changer works now.
I am happy now. Thanks again!.
