Drip feed from PC to Heidenhain

Hi, I am John from Folkestone UK. I have just joined the forum and I hope someone can answer my question. I am looking to buy a second hand Interact 1 or Interact 1 Mk2. Due to my restricted budget it will probably be quite old. It is essential to my requirements that I can dripfeed large programs from my cam software on my PC. What is the earliest Heidenhain control the can accept dripfeed from a PC. Thanks in advance.

    John,
I think, but have never done it that the a 145 onwards will work ok.You can download the free Heidenhain software plus connection and programming manuals from the Heidenhain website. It`s all free.A look through the Bridgeport forum on this site will get you loads of info and links.
You should pick up an Interact 1 with a 145 or 150 control for not a lot more than £750 if you take your time.Less is also possible.
Don`t just limit yourself to Interacts,Beavers came with Heidenhain controls also and usually have a 40 Int spindle, bigger table and bigger travels. They are also a lot more ridgid. And can be cheaper.A V5 would fit the bill.

have sent you a PM.Don`t rush to buy one this week unless you have to.Cash is going to be a lot tighter in the New Year and machines will be cheaper and more plentiful.

Caution: just because it has a 145 or 150 does not guarantee it will drip feed!
my old 150, for instance, will transfer (up to 1000 lines) but will not dripfeed!

    Drip Feed

The earliest JH control where you can find the Drip Feed (Blockwise transfer)
    is TNC151.

There is the manuals for the control.
