I have a rotary table for a mill and would like to hold a 5" diameter cylinder using this rotary table. I do not need to move at a high rpm (7 - 8 rpm max)

I also have a 3 jaw chuck available.

Does anyone have any recommendation for the kind of fixture needed to support such a cylinder (5" diameter)?

What size r. table? Gonna need to be at least a 6"! Obviously a 5" chuck will hold the pipe but could distort it with the force required in a 3 jaw. 4 jaw better, 6 jaw best - also what accuracy in alignment do you require? 3 jaws are ok but an independant can be spot cock on!
Chuck mounting to table usually with back plate and either tee slots or screw adapter?
7 - 8 rpm on a rotary table is quite fast especially if manual - could be done with motorisation but still pretty rapid - edge speed of 125.6" / minute and 576 turns of the crank handle for a 1:72 geared table?
