    cad models for common parts.

    Hi all..

Does anyone have or can point me to a source for cad models for some of the common parts we use? Porter Cable or other Routers, steppers, couplers, bearings, ballscrews etc? Either in 2d or 3d, dwg, dxf, stp etc..

I'm starting a new machine and doing it in cad (autocad) first, 36"x36"x9" and using 80/20 for the frame and drylin w bearings. Both vendors provide cad models, the 80/20 autoquote tool is very good, all which make my home made efforts for the remainder of the machine look pretty bad!

Good luck trying to find anything. CAD libraries like that are very hard to find. Say! Maybe the Zone should start a CAD model library with these types of 3D/2D files in it. The files can be saved in IGES format for 3D and DXF for 2D. I have many 3D and 2D parts I could put in there.
    Thanks

Go to thomasnet.com and look into registering for the partspec CD set.
There are up to ver. 8 and it is 8 CD's of cad drawings..
Good thing to have if your doing any type of design work..
