Insert weld bead into assembly nifty but does it work?

tried it on several different assemblies.

    This is the error message.
"Multiple bodies not supported for this feature."

, I tried split lines on the surfaces of the parts as well.

Most of my assemblies parts have been created with weldmentments as well. not sure if this is a problem..

any ideas? Really would like have some nice weld beads on my assemblies.

    Thanks and happy New Year.

What version of SW are you using?

I've used Weld beads in the past but found that in reality, unless I was going to render the model for promotional stuff.. it wasn't worth the effort. It's much simpler to just put in weld symbols and caterpillars [if needed] on the drawings..

    I am with Jerry.

Haven't bothered with a weld bead since the functionality first came out. (was it 04?)

client has been asking for weld bead in the assembly. 2008 sw . I got one filet bead to work by combining bodies in the cut list in part. stumped on how to make a weld bead on a seam. this seam does not have campher on edges and has no gap.

do i select seem weld? which is the top and stop faces? contact would be between the seem correct?

Are yoy doing it in an assembly or weldment part? In a weldment part your going to use the Weld bead feature in the toolbar. In an assembly you use a 'assembly feature' to put the bead in.
