Mitsubishi Control problems on a Citizen

    Hello,

I have a Citizen E25J CNC Swiss Machine with a Mitsubishi control. The control is a type FCA320LC-V and the machine is a 1991 model machine. We turned the machine on a and get no display on the monitor. The control is on and everything lights green except we have red lights on the MC161-1 card. Has anyone ran into a similar problem before and if so how serious of a problem are we face with? Has the MC161-1 card gone bad? Any information anyone can provide would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Gary

If the machine has not been turned on for a wile , the battery might be dead.
Then you have to reformat the control and reload the parameters

Hey, thanks for responding to my question and the information. How difficult of a process would this be? Should a novice repair person be able to perform this task or should I go ahead and call a service tech?

    Thank you,

    Gary

This control needs to be re-initialized. Not for the faint at heart, probably want to get a tech in there. If you have a backup floppy or hardcopy of the parameters, it should be a snap for the tech. I would love to explain how to do it, but there is quite a few steps to it, and its much easier to do it then explain it. You will probably be needing to purchase a few pancake batteries. I think they are GB-150H's The model # is on the batteries on the boards.

I have files ALL1, ALL2, and ALL3 which I believe to be the parameter files for the machine.
