OPTIMUM BF20L mill, z-travel exactly from table height ?

    Hi..

    The OPTIMUM BF20L has a z-travel of 280 mm.
    http://www.optimum-machines.com/prod...rio/index.html

How is this exactly calculated ?
If the drill-cutter head is down, does it touch the table ?

Suppose a cutter sticks 100 mm out of the cutter holder.
Does the distance between the cutter and the table then become 280 - 100 = 180 mm ?
Or will it be a little bit more then 180 mm ?
    How much more ?

    Thanks..

    Vroemm.

On my Weiss machine, pretty much the same as the Optimum, the spindle taper nose is 30mm above the table when fully wound down and 330mm above when fully wound up.
