    1050 Problem

Do you know which model it is: T, MC, H, HL, MCL? What machine is it on?

    1050H

I guess I would get a little RS-232 tester to put in the line and watch the lights. Punching something out would be a good first test.

Assuming that nothing has changed on the computer end (baudrate, stop bits, parity etc.) it sounds like it might be a hardware problem.

It has been a long time since I worked on an H, but I seem to remember that the cable jumpers select the baudrate. If so, it might be time to open up the connector and check for broken jumpers.
