    Hi there!!!

Yip I aspire it to be a gas turbine...... okay so if it dont run then maybe it could pass for a fancy doorstop (NooooT!). Fascinated with gas turbines and their ability to power large aircraft I challenged myself into building one. Yes there is the conventional method of converting a turbocharger (I started with this) into one but it just didnt follow the 'axial' profile of a jet engine....

....So enter the realm of hours on weekend and negotiations with the MR's....hehe...

    Hi Mikie,

Thanks, Yes the idea is based on a kj66 but a bit smaller in comparison - the turbine and engine size depended on the compressor wheel I had in my workshop.....

Project a bit slow now - as I am building a home foundry setup to cast components - will try the turbine wheel aswell.....

    Hi Praised,

Can you advise me how you went about the diffuser.
I assume some it was manually completed as 5 axis machines are rare in homes.

    I figure the following sequence:

    1. machine and face both sides and outer diameter.
    2. machine 4 bolt holes
    3. locate in mill and complete stator machining
    4. machine in mill or lathe the outer stators.

Question for pt4. - how did you machine the airfoil shape into the stator.

Question on the outer shaft, did you just use 2000 series aluminium or did you go for a 6000 series free machining ali instead.

PS; i see on your website, you mention you have CAD drawings for the KJ-66. Any chance of obtaining a copy so I don't have to draw it all from scratch?

thanks for any help in advance
    Michael
