    broken foot pedal

Broke the connection for my chuck clamp/unclamp foot pedal.. how to I clamp unclamp w/o? I can unclamp in MDI with M11 however when I then try to chuck with M11 it errors that the chuck is unclamped... Need to resume production asap!

Interesting problem. I wonder if you can trick the machine by switching to ID chucking then program in to open the jaws followed by m0 so you'll have time to close the door. You'll also have to override the door safety switch.

    open / close chuck

It is possible to do this if you change the parameter setting CHUCK OPEN CS to 1 it will allow you to open the chuck in MDI when it is closed all though I would only use the as a last resort because the spindel will also run with out the chuck clamped and this could be bad!!! I would not let an operator do this but to finish out a job or part I may do it my self I not sure if it will affect anything else so be very careful.

Seems like it shouldn't be too hard to repair the broken connection.

We didn't use ID chucking very often but I think it's under Settings.

well, no, it shouldnt be that hard to fix it.... it did break the plastic tho. I just wanted to cut open the back of the connection box, extend the leads, and plug those into the pedal... But boss says we should just order a new one.. haha whatever

I haven't run the Haas in a while that's why I'm not 100% certain but I think you have to change a Setting before you can change the Parameters.
