    Need Help with Drawings

I've been using emachineshop to design parts that I make on my manual mill. Now, I want to outsource the machining to a local shop. So, I need drawings with dimensions. I've been fiddling with Alibre and progeCAD, but the learning curve is too steep for me to get it done in time. Does anyone know of someone that can use my emachineshop files (.ems) as a reference to create the drawings (or files) that a CNC machine shop needs? Or, someone that can machine (CNC) the parts using my emachine files? I'm in eastern Connecticut, USA.

    Thanks in advance.

You can export your Emachineshop drawing as a DXF which may suffice assuming your .ems file is to scale. You'll have to provide tolerances etc.

    Gene,
    Thanks for the reply.

I was under the impression (from reading other threads here) that the eMachineShop DXF exports weren't usable. Are you saying that they are, as long as the eMAchinShop part is created properly? If, so that is great!

They also now export .igs files. Is that even better?

    Thanks again,
    Don

I successfully exported the file "Blanking Complex Sample.ems" to a DXF file and opened it in both Autocad12 and Intellicad 2001(a free program). I didn't have any luck with the IGES export.

    Update
It seems that only the 2D information is valid in the DXF file.
