    Table Enlargement/Part Holddown

I have the sherline 5000 mini-mill. I'm happy with its performance but not to crazy about the small sherline vise or the size of the table. I was thinking of removing the vise and somehow mounting a plate of aluminum on top of the current table to accomomdate larger work pieces. Then comes the issue of holding the part down. Anyone know of a good method or a site with pics showing how someone went about such a task?
