Hi All,
Have seen this forum many times on my travels but only subscribed now I am in need of dire help!

We have 3 Mori Seiki SL253 lathes that were being controlled by an RS232 networked PC. The PC had a "custom" (in house dos based system) program that would upload to the Mori and download back to the server if necessary.

I have now got to set up a new pc at a different site to connect to one of the Mori's we have moved and was hoping I could just use the program "SDNC" to send and receive files as I do with our Fadel's and Haas milling machines. However, Its just not working.

I have checked the settings "IN/OUT" that the RS232 parameters match but still not getting anywhere.

Im purely IT so be gentle with the lingo hehe. I could just copy the old PCs hard drives to a new one but I wouldnt be any closer to understanding how the program worked, I would much rather be using a windows based intuitive system that was designed post 1990!

How does everyone else in the world communicate between these and the PCs/Server??
