Hi, I have a Mazak Integrex 200SY with the tool magazine. All morning when the tool arm goes to switch the tool out it lets go of it half way and throws it out the back of the machine. This has happened before when it was really cold but I figured it just needed to warm up. But its 70 degrees out today so I don't know what's going on.

kinda funny in a dumb way; but a serious problem too. We experienced a bit of that at my old place. Things to check, adequate hydralic fluid, air hose not leaking, position sensors get gummed up and need to be cleaned.

Tool tossing hard on sheet metal and tooling
Is it doing it on both pockets?
Heavy and light tools?

1. Check the ATC arm. On the arm where the tool locates there are plungers that are spring loaded. Sometimes the springs break or get gumed up. Also the plunger end will wear over time. On some there are an additional locator plate for the tool keyway.
2. You can find the air or hyd valve that controls the arm, turn down the flow so the arm moves slower see if you can see why it is tossing the tools.
3. Check location of all axis, to ensure that machine is at proper pos.
