I'm a CNC guy, but I had a retail shop where we sold imported lamps that were hollow heart shapes with one end open for the light socket. I think they were fiberglass, but I'm wanting to reproduce hollow objects like this to make lamps from.

What technology is ava? I'm very curious about vacuum thermoforming, but I'm guessing this won't do a full 3D hollow form. Glass molding uses a glob of hot material that they blow air into to force it against a mold. Can plastic work this way?

I've read some about fiberglass with a bladder inserted to press the glass against a mold. Any comments on this method?

What other methods are ava to the committed DIYer?

Thanks!
