    mach 3 monitoring current draw

    Is there away that allows the current draw to be monitored at the user interface....in mach 3 for drive motors ?

    Yes.



    But since you left out all of the rest of the information needed, I can't go much further.

    That being said, it would first of all depend on how you are generating a signal that tells what the amps being drawn are. If it is an analog signal, you could add a board that allows ananlog input and maybe create a new screen to display the information on.

    I will be looking at doing this on my dspmc/ip controlled machines.

    looking at implement this the most cost effective way....
    vai lem, shunt or analog signal etc... doors wide open for now
    need ideas

    Hi eloid,
    What make of drive do you have? many industrial drives have a current monitor analog output. If using a gecko drive or similar, you may have to use a shunt or something to get a current value.

    On my dspmc driven machine, I have 8 analog inputs built in, so its pretty straight forward to make this work.
