Anyone used Polythene pad slides for T slot extrusion

    Hi,

Have any of you guys used these bearings for an X Y assembly, they are designed to slot directly on to T slot aluminum extrusion. The use UHMW-PE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) bearing pads.

I and others have used them, but they are pretty much crap when it comes to using them on a machine axis if you want any speed at all. They have too much friction when they are set up for no slop or too much slop with little friction.

Thanks for the confirmation. Moving right along then does anyone do a skate bearing linear slide for ally T slot extrusion then ? I notice the guys at http://www.cncrouterparts.com/ do something very close to this. I guess skate bearings straight on ally extrusion would be a bad match of material hardness.
