I am presently considering the build of a small desktop mill using MDF as the foundation materials. THe mill will be used for cutting wood, plastic and maybe aluminum. IN the process of searching my junk boxes, I came across a gently used 12V Skill battery powered drill. The charger was lost long ago. After pulling it apart, I found a 60W 13500rpm (16.5K no load) DC motor. Model RS-550 PF

My question is would this motor be useful as a motive source for a homade spindle?
Yes? or should I find a charger for the drill? One nice thing about this motor is it sells for $6.50 USD - nice and cheap should it burn out.
