Good afternoon gang -
I've refitted my Bridgeport with a Z-feed off of an identical control. I have glass scales on X & Y, with an encoder running Z. All is Anliam OEM, and all hardware responds to the control.
Since I don't have the destruction manual for the control, I've had to learn it on my own...
PCB-502 DIP F6:
1 on = Z-axis NC (?)
2 on only = .0001" resolution
3 on only = .0002" resolution
1 on 3 off = .0005" resolution
With #1 and 3, the machine will operate 2-axis perfectly, however Z will read at approximately 4:1 (meaning movement over 4.5" of travel reads 1.2").
When setting the resolution to .0005", Z is closer to 5:4, but not accurately 1:1.
PCB-502 is good - I've tested two boards with the same results. (Possible issue may still exist with the Servo-drive interface board - PCB-501/3(?)).
I've read Anilam encoders operate at 128 lines per inch. I believe the issue may be corrected through some settings / calibration; Or, I could remove the encoder and re-connect the glass-scale to my Z-feed and be done with it.
I'm open to suggestions..
