There is a difference between the 0 and 0i, but the 0m came in A,B or C.
The RS232 on the latter should be the same.
TV ON = 0
ISO = 1
I/0 = 0
PARA 002 = 00000001
552 = 9 (2400 baud) 10 (4800 baud).

On the back of my machine there is a Fanuc tag that says it has a O control .....the letter o ..this is a 1986 machine my pars go from 0 to 490 no five hundreds ...starts at 1000 again for pitch error and goes to 8500 ac servo drives........what do i change for rs 232 ,,,thanks

Is this a 0 control on a punch press? If so, you might have the parameter mapping of the 6M-B. What are your parameters 311, 312, 313, 340, and 341 ? These are the serial port parameters on the 6M-B.

That is not the first time that I have heard that there is no #552 in the O control. Is that what the problem is? The parameters were mapped like the 6M control. The last 2 times I tried to help someone they both had the same wire EDMs with the OM control. I figured it was just those machines.
Sorry I had no contribution to this thread but I think there is a few people out there that would like to know the reason for this.

Stevo1: When Fanuc introduced the 0M control, they wanted to replace the system 6 completely because the 6 used expensive bubble memory. Fanuc had written the software for the 0T and 0M (lathe and mills), but they didn't have the software written yet for punch presses and EDM machines. To save time, they just ported over the 6M software for EDMs and punch presses, which means that the parameter mapping was compatible with the 6M. Later, they got the new software written, and the punch press and EDM versions of the 0M looked like, well, like a 0M.
SOO IF YOU DONT HAVE A 552 PAR SET IT UP AS A 6M ...????

Yes as Dan is stating you should use the settings of the 6M series control for the communication. Parameters 311,312,313,340,341 as were stated in post 7. I do not have the 6 series parameter manual so you will have to look up what the settings are for these parameters. If you don't have parameter 552 and your machine is not a EDM or Punch Press well then I don't have a clue and that would be another Mr. Fritz question. But I am assume that it is a EDM so there should be no problems.
