    newbie

Hello guys,I am brand new to the CNC world I'm building a 3 axis mill for cutting foam for lost foam casting. I have the machine built and I am at the stepper motor and electronics stage and yes I'm lost!!! First question I have is about the stepper motors I have, they are made by american precision industries inc. It also says rapidsyn division on the back. model 23D-6137H voltage- 11.2VDC current .44 A also has 9136 stampted on it. Does anyone have any information on these or a wiring diagram, thanks for any info.

Are they 8 wire motors? They are pretty weak motors.

Ken, that motor looks just like mine but it only has six wires green, black, white, red ,white/green stripe, white/red stripe. And thats on all three of them. I think that I can count eight in your picture and the best that I can see mine doesn't have the brown one and the orange one. The only other thing I can see is the number below the current (.44 A) on mine is 8943. Thats kind of strange that mine only has six,I've looked at them close and they are not cut off or pulled out.Thanks.

I know this was an old post but just for those who are looking now, the 6137H and 99% of the Rapid 6 wire are paired as follows grn, grn/wht, wht red, red/wht, blk
If you ohm them try this
    grn - grn/wht 49-50 ohms, grn - white approx 24-25 ohms, grn/wht - wht approx 24-25 ohms

    red - red/wht 49-50 ohms, red -blk approx 24-25 ohms, red/wht - blk approx 24-25 ohms

Hope it helps, Rick the Old Geezer Machinist. By the way I torqued them and got a hold break reading avg of 223, not super powerful, but I have 8 of the 37's running on two small cnc routers, I'm even using one on each as a spindle drive using a flex cable for pcb cutter.
