    authorizing code

    My friend gave me AutoCad 2ooo because his work did away with the machine and enginerring shop. They where just going to throw it away because the didnt need it anymore. I have a card what I think are the authorizing code but they dont work.

    I tryed to get a new code but it says the its registrerd to another company [ie not me] any thoughts?

    I think you are trading on some pretty thin ice, legally speaking. As far as I understand it, you cannot use the software legally because it is not registered to you. Remember, you don't own it, you only purchase a license to use it.

    Also keep in mind that Autodesk is one of the more aggresive companies who are pursuing piracy. You probably don't want to mess with their legal department!
