    Contour on Surface. Mastercam 9

Im pretty new at mastercam and am having a hard time with this.

I am trying to mill a flat contour pattern onto a uneven surface. How would I go about doing this?

Well without looking at the part I would probably have the Z coridinate somewhere above the surface draw the shape and then mill the contour toolpath to the depth you need. the key I guess is to know how deep into the surface from the highest point you need to cut.

I'm not sure whether you are trying to make the a 2d path on a 3d surface or follow the 3d surface with the 2d path, in the first case simply set the depth of your tool path and run it on the surface. to follow the surface you can project a 2d tool path onto the surface, and add depths if needed to keep the tool a specified distance above or below the surface.

you need to have level 3 mill to do the latter i think
