Darebee, your using Visual are you not? Have you heard anything in regards to their 5 axis and how well it's working?

Adding it into SolidWorks is a good move.. I've been doing pricing w/ SolidCAM recently but I'm glad I waited.. now I've got another option to test..

My primary concern w/ 5 axis is that it is able to do the tool offsets in the program vs doing them in the Control software..

    Thanks for the heads up..

    Hi Jerry

I am sorry I know nothing about the 5 axis.
    I only use 4.

FWIW I do not use cutter comp in my control. I run the code as generated and set stock values to +/- as needed.

    I think the 5 axis is a 3+2 system. I don't see why it couldn't be a 4+1 (but I don't make software so I don't understand programming intricacies)

    I should have added.
Give Anita a call at MecSoft.
They are very nice, will do online demos on your parts and you will get NO pushy sales calls (they better not make a liar out of me :stickpoke)

They work directly with us users to resolve issues.

Tell Anita Derek from Integrated Mechanical sent you and that she better treat you right.

I believe there is a reseller in TO now, but I deal direct with MecSoft and have no intention of changing.

Thanks Derek, I may just do that First I'll probably tag along on that roll-out on the 22nd. Then if things look good I'll get in touch w/ them.. I'm getting closer to doing a deal as I've had several projects of late that would have benefited greatly from multi axis [and less setups]..

    Thanks!
