I need to make an elliptical punch and die, and I have not done much 3D machining.First can you comp a ballmill in Y and Z the way you would in X and Y
a regular endmill ?Second if you cant use cutter comp how do you write the comp into the toolpath for the die? For the punch I am thinking that I could program the ellipse wider by the cutter diameter.For the die I'm not sure what I should comp and where.Mind I don't have CAD CAM software and I am using a FANUC Oi-MC control

The only way that you could comp it is useing scaleing feater of the control there are sevral post on here about it in resent days.
