    Spindle will not start!

    Hi guys. I’m hoping someone might understand our problem and provide a solution!

    Apparently we were due to repeat a job from the previous day and after turning the mill on, booting the PC ad loading the job mill’s the spindle just wouldn’t start. We have tried running .tap files which worked fine previously with no success. There has been no software or hardware change.

    These are the settings our operator has asked me to mention:

    -> Spindle lockout is off
    -> Switch is set to Auto not Manual
    -> XML tweak is reading correctly

    The Mach 3 software will run the G-code as normal with all axes moving, but no spindle revolution. The technician has found that if he edits the G-code and replaces the M3 commands with M4 the spindle activates and runs as it should, however he states this is no good, as we don’t use any left hand cutting tools!

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Many thanks

    Dan

    you might look at the M3.m1s file and compare to M4.m1s. They're in the macro folder I think.
