    help with micro stepping

    hello im running my board in eighth step mode with a 1.8 deg steppers ie 200 steps for 360 deg ??? but according to the stepping sequence chart that came with the xylotex board its 33 stepps for 360 deg?? so im trying to find out steppes per inch for the contrallor software i have xyoltex board in eighth mode pac scince steppers 1.8 deg in bi pollar and 1/4-20 lead screws is i use the 200 number it 4000 stepes per inch and if i use the 33 number its 660 thats a big diffrance any help pls thx chris

    Disregard the chart,,,, It fdoesn't make sense to me either, I'm sure it does to the others. But lets get you going. Running in 1/8 steps means that it will take 8 microsteps to equal one full step, Your motor takes 200 full steps to make one revolution,,,, multiply by 8 you get 1600,,, You are using 1'4-20 rod, so you need 20 revolutions to travel one inch,,,, 1600 times 20 is 32000. Punch that into your software, and see what you get.
