    Mach3 Profiles

    I have my machine setup in inches using:
    - 1/2-10 ACME lead screws
    - 1.8 degree, 270oz steppers (200 steps per rev)
    - 1/8 microstepping drivers

    My motor tuning in Mach3 is
    Steps per Revolution = 20000
    Velosity = 60
    Acceleration = 1
    Step Pulse= 5
    Dir Pulse = 5
    These values are from memory as I'm not in front of the router PC.
    My router is super smooth with these settings, I'm very happy with its operation.
    Now, I want to start using Metric units and I do not want to mess with my Imperial setup, will Mach3 allow me to create another profile with different motor tuning?
    As well what would the settings be for my motor tuning for me to setup metric. I have to convert the 10TPI screw to metric (turns per mm or cm) I do not think there will be many turns per mm.

    Thanks for the help.

    In your current setting, the steps per unit should be 16000. To set it up in mm, it would be 16000/25.4 = 629.921 steps/mm

    Yes, you can have multiple profiles set up.

    I have to check my drivers maybe I have them set to 1/10 microstepping.
    So it is just a matter of doing a convert on my imperial settings, that should be easy enough.
    Thank you Gerry.

    It worked fine. I did have my drivers at 1/10 stepping. I set my metric profile at 20000/25.4 = 787.401574
    Thanks for the help.
    Now I need to fix the AutoZero Setter to work in both profiles. Maybe I can make 2 custom files and set the custom button script per file...
