    Spindle Control Through G540

Can I use the fourth unused axis of my G540 to supply 0-10 volts to my Sieg X2 mini mill spindle? I would still need a relay to turn the motor on and off but will this work or not? Is there a downside to doing this or is there a better way to control the spindle motor with Mach3?
    Thanks

Why not use the 0-10 volt analog output that is built into the G540?

See item 10 on the first page.
