    Servos and drive help

Hi there guys, this is my first post ever on CNCZone .
I am design my second router now, for this one i have decied to move to Servo motors. I have found some motors and their drives from a friend that I think would be suitable. Heres their data sheets:

    Motors : http://www.compumotor.com/manuals/Hauser/HDY_HJ.pdf (I have the HDY70C4-44S motor)

    Drives : http://www.hmkdirect.com/parker/Data...01000%20sl.pdf

I have never used a servo system before, and I was hoping some of you guys might be able to help me.

Basically what I wanted to know is wether this is all i need for them to run? (PC to Drive to Motor)

Would i be able to control them with mach 2 ?

I appreciate any help you can give me.

    Dave

I did not completely read the driver sheet, but in order to use Mach 2 the driver must accept Step and Direction pulses that come from the PC's printer port.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply,
In the datasheet it says that i can recieved Step/ dir siginals, I assume this would be a serial connection on the Drive , would it be easy to interphase this to the parallel port on the pc Mach is controlling?

If this would work is this all i would need to the control system?, i am asking this because i have heard of systems using a signal generator ( eg flashcut), what does this do.

    Thanks

    Dave

    Mach uses parallel port inputs.
