Being outside the square !!!
Cool video, got a link to download it?
Too bad those machines are so expensive, and dangerous, because they are too damn cool!
Hey Javadog, You will probably have a hard time saving the video since it is a streaming type.
I got it from this site http://www.flowcorp.com/waterjet-resources.cfm?id=335
There is heaps of other videos, and a great read about the whole thing. It is the best site I have seen on the subject

I've got to agree with JavaDog-I want one! Did some work at a bakery in Chicago some years back and they used one (without abrasives) to cut cookies (cooked in a sheet) into wafers. The head tracked the sheet as it moved and cut the pieces out on the fly. It was mezmerizing to watch. And bizarre-the pieces didn't get wet!
Thanks Benny!

Amazing stuff.
I'd hate to see the price though.
See here for some nice examples of stuff cut by abrasive waterjet.

Make sure you check all the pages there.
Any one built one yet?
Thats an awsome video.
Santa... PLEASE BRING me one for Xmas
If anyone does, use loads and loads of safety precautions. I was living in Kent WA back when they were first developing this thing, and I know of at least one gent who was sliced nearly to the bone when a seal let go at a high pressure joint, and he was just standing near the testbed table.Originally Posted by ynneb
Last time I talked to anyone from flow systems they were working on a water lathe app. Anyone know if they ever got that off the ground?
